Sarah Swygart is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who is passionate about empowering people to achieve more authenticity and self-compassion as they connect with the present moment, themselves, and others.
Sarah obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Addictions Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, and her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
Sarah has two years of experience in Community Mental Health Centers where she provided therapy primarily for children and their parents. While working with foster families, Sarah utilized TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), a trauma-informed parenting approach that focuses on building trust with your child and meeting your child’s needs.
Sarah’s training on trauma and the brain enables her to guide her clients in understanding their body’s responses, building awareness of their emotional needs, and exploring their story to find healing for themselves and their relationships so that they can live life more fully.
Areas of interest include parenting, marital issues, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, women’s issues, adoption, and trauma.
Sarah works out of the Sandwich office.
