Amy Heiman received her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana State University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Amy has provided clinical services in a variety of settings, including outpatient counseling, adolescent partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, schools, and in an employee assistance program.
Amy enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults in individual, couple, and family therapy. Amy's areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, grief and loss issues, adolescents, divorce and remarriage, play therapy with children, womens issues, and infertility/adoption.
Amy has developed and presented educational programs on various issues including parenting, self-esteem, communication and stress management.
Amy believes in being proactive by providing people with the life skills necessary to lead healthy, productive lives and welcomes the opportunity to speak to local school, community and church organizations on a variety of issues related to family relationships and personal growth.
Amy works out of the Yorkville Office.
