Toussaint Whetstone, Ph.D.
Toussaint D. Whetstone, Ph.D., is a Professional Psychologist providing counseling on a part-time basis. He received his B.S. in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University, his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. In addition to his current full-time role as Director of the Wheaton College Counseling Center, Dr. Whetstone has worked in various other settings including DePaul University Counseling Services, Alliance Clinical Associates, in Wheaton, IL, and the University of Notre Dame Counseling Center. Dr. Whetstone specializes in crisis intervention and the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in adults and emerging adults.
For more than a decade, Dr. Whetstone has specialized in counseling individuals who present with spiritual concerns, sexual orientation issues, men’s issues, and issues related to racial/ethnic identity. Dr. Whetstone enjoys working with couples as well as treating individuals with relationship concerns. Dr. Whetstone has also facilitated several psychotherapy groups addressing depressive disorders using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Generalized Anxiety Disorder using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Social Phobia using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Dr. Whetstone is passionate about helping patients from all backgrounds recognize and pursue their full potential as human beings. He also counsels women, from a Feminist perspective, for the purpose of personal, professional, and social empowerment.
He works out of the St. Charles office.
