Dr. Jake Johnson is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified PREPARE/ENRICH marital counselor. In addition to his work at Centennial, Jake works as a professor of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and as the MFT clinical training coordinator for the Master's in MFT program at Wheaton College.
Jake received his Ph.D. in Human Development with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech and a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. He also holds undergraduate degrees in global studies and Spanish studies from the University of Minnesota and a certificate in Latin American studies from the VENUSA College of International Studies in Merida, Venezuela.
Jake specializes in working with couples experiencing high levels of conflict, at-risk adolescents, and families of children with developmental disabilities. Other areas of interest for Jake include men's issues, multicultural couples and families, and how clients' religious/spiritual beliefs may either strengthen or inhibit their personal and relational growth.
He works out of the St. Charles office.
