Jon Hsieh, M.S.W., LCSW

 

Jon Hsieh (pronounced She) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Jon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Wheaton College and his Masters of Social Work from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Social Work.

 

Jon has more than twenty years of clinical experience working with adults, adolescents and children struggling with a variety of issues, relationship conflicts, changes, and transitions throughout the life cycle. Jon has extensive experience doing group work with adults and adolescents, combining prevention and psychoeducational learning with creative and experiential approaches.

 

Jon has worked with individuals and groups referred through the DuPage County court system who struggle with anger and conduct issues. He taught anger management and fair fighting techniques to adolescents who found themselves involved with Alternative To Suspension Programs at local Junior and Senior High Schools in DuPage County. Jon has also worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker and as a Police Social Worker, providing assessment and crisis intervention services to individuals, couples and families in the community.

 

Areas of special interest include grief and loss issues, anxiety, depression (including often-neglected male depression), marital issues, divorce recovery, blended families, domestic violence, survivors of physical and sexual abuse, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anger management, addictions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and ADD/ADHD assessment and treatment. Jon works out of the Sandwich Office.
