Daniel Bingham, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Daniel Bingham is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist received his Doctorate and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. He received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences from Xavier University.

 

Daniel has provided clinical services in outpatient, residential, inpatient, forensic and university counseling center settings. His clinical interests include working with the religious, spiritual, theological and existential dimensions of personhood. He received specialized training in addressing these components and resources at the Danielsen Institute at Boston University. Daniel's training has included the provision of individual, group, couples and family therapy, and psychological assessment.

 

Daniel has had considerable experience working with long—standing depression and anxiety and addressing aspects of personality that can interfere with relationships and intimacy with significant others. He has expertise in gender issues—specifically, identity development and how we understand our internal experiences according to gender. Daniel's doctoral dissertation analyzed how the stress of gender roles affects what emotions are seen in others.

 

Daniel has taught undergraduate courses in Spiritual Discernment & Differential Diagnosis and Counseling & Psychotherapy. In addition, he has led a wide range of groups utilizing varying therapeutic modalities. These have included Alcohol and Other Drug Relapse Prevention, Anger Management, Spirituality, and both shorter and longer—term Relationship groups. He has enjoyed consultation with groups and community organizations and welcomes future opportunity to speak with school, community, and religious organizations regarding mental health or relationship issues. Daniel will be working out of the Yorkville office.
